Arab businessmen to meet in Morocco next month
Regional-Morocco, Economics, 4/27/1999

The third forum of Arab business people will meet next May 20-21 in Marrakesh to discuss "globalization and effects of the Euro on Arab economies."

Sponsored by the Moroccan enterprises association (CGEM) and the Arab Businessmen's Council, the meeting will be an opportunity to examine the needed strategies to face globalization challenges and consolidate cooperation and partnership among Arab states.

According to a CGEM statement, over 500 officials, entrepreneurs, delegates of regional and international finance institutions, representatives of the Arab League, of the European Commission and the World Trade Organization will attended the third forum.

The first and second editions were held respectively in 1997 in Amman and in 1998 in Luxor, Egypt.

Participants will assess the impact of market-opening and competition as part of four workshops.
