Agreement for trade cooperation between Egypt and India

An Indian economic delegation starts today a visit to Egypt to draft a general framework for trade cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation comprises of businessmen chaired by Ann Radi, the Indian assistant deputy trade minister.
An international source in the Indian embassy said the visit includes the endorsement of an agreement with the Ministry of International Cooperation to upgrade economic and trade cooperation and to establish joint fairs in the two countries.
Trade statistics show that India is considered the third-largest partner for Egypt in the Indian sub-continent.
The volume of trade between the two countries in 1997/98 amounted to $436 million.
