King Fahd calls for pressuring Israel to withdraw from Golan, Jerusalem
Saudi Arabia-Regional, Politics, 4/27/1999

During its Monday session, chaired by King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Cabinet denounced the repeated aggressive Israeli practices against south Lebanon.

The Saudi Cabinet also denounced the Israeli acts in occupied Jerusalem, manifested in confiscating land, demolishing houses, expelling people and closing down Beit al-Sharq (the Orient House). The Cabinet said all these actions are in the context of Israeli schemes aiming at Judaizing Jerusalem and distorting its Arab and Islamic features, thereby violating all international resolutions and humanitarian charters.

The Saudi king asserted during the meeting the need to pressure Israel in order to give up these practices and abide by the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions in withdrawing from south Lebanon, the western Bekaa and the Golan Heights to the June 4, 1967 border lines and not to permit the Israeli authorities to make changes in the structure and the demographics of the occupied city of Jerusalem and other Palestinian cities.

Concerning conditions in Balkan region, the Saudi king asserted the need to restore the people of Kosovo to their homes, to stop bloodshed and end the mass killings in the area. He called on the international community for a real stand in backing the people of Kosovo and offering relief to its refugee peoples.
