Chilean commercial bureau dedicated in Casablanca
Morocco-Chile, Economics, 4/26/1999

A Chilean commercial bureau was dedicated in Casablanca over the weekend to enhance trade exchanges and increase investments between the two countries.

The bureau was launched on the sidelines of a seminar on trade and partnership between Morocco and Chile that was attended by several Moroccan and chilean businessmen operating in the sectors of tourism, services and industry.

Debates covered Morocco's assets and cooperation prospects with Chile, Chile's economic overture and the joint business opportunities offered in the two countries.

Morocco and Chile are projecting to set up a business council to upgrade trade exchanges that do not exceed $ 5 million per year.

Chile ranks 75th among Morocco's suppliers and 89th among its clients. The exchanged products are mainly made up of chilean wood and copper and Moroccan phosphates and canned fish.

The two countries are also discussing a draft commercial agreement.
