Lebanese economic delegation visiting Cairo
Egypt-Lebanon, Economics, 4/26/1999
The Egyptian ministers of industry and of economy, Soliman Reda and Youssef Butros Ghali met yesterday with a Lebanese industrial delegation chaired by Jacques Serraf, the head of industrial assembly, who arrived in Cairo at the invitation of the head of Egyptian industrial assembly, Abd El-Menem Saudi.
The Lebanese delegation discussed with the Egyptian ministers, mutual cooperation, opening the horizons for mutual investments in Egypt and coordinating efforts in the field of exportation to foreign markets.
The Egyptian and Lebanese private sectors are seriously studying the establishment of a joint bank under the name of Egypt - Lebanon United Bank, with a primary capital in which businessmen and investors would take part.
The visit of the Lebanese delegation comes in light of a clear rise in the mutual relations, especially after the visit of Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss to Cairo on February 16 and the visit of an Egyptian business delegation to Beirut in the same month.
