Qatari FM arrives in Tehran

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem al-Thani arrived in Tehran on Sunday on a two-day official visit to Tehran. In an arrival statement, the Qatari minister said relations between Iran and the GCC member states are now much better, and, "We are trying to strengthen these relations increasingly."

Sheikh Hamad noted the common indicators linking Iran and Qatar. He added that, "These indicators constitute the proper ground to develop relations between the two countries."

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi praised the common matters linking Iran and Qatar. He added that this visit will further help in boosting relations between the two countries and their desire to strengthen them.

Kharazi added that "interests of the region implies that Sheikh Hamad will meet with Iranian President Muhammad Khatami."
