Communique from Russian president to Arafat

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat received a communique from Russian President Boris Yeltsin concerning talks with the Israeli side and the date of the Palestinian statehood proclamation.

Furthermore, Yeltsin criticized the Israeli settlement campaign in the Palestinian territories, and he called for a halt to unilateral measures.

On the other hand, the Palestinian National Authority asserted that the decision of the Israeli government to close three bureaus in Palestinian eastern house at eastern Jerusalem is against the law.

The Palestinian official for the Jerusalem file, Faisel El-Husseini, said there are current condensed contacts with representatives of foreign countries in Jerusalem and Arab forces to pressure the Israeli government to retreat from closing the Orient House.
