Istiqlal Party leader winds up visit to Spain

The secretary general of the Moroccan nationalist "Istiqlal Party" (PI/in the government), Abbes El-Fassi, wound up on Thursday a five-day visit to Spain that was marked by talks with several Spanish officials and political leaders.
Talks focused on the relations binding the two neighboring countries, the situation prevailing in the region and cooperation between the two banks of the Mediterranean.
The developments of the Sahara issue, emigration-related questions and cultural cooperation were also brought up at the talks Abbes El Fassi had with Spanish Foreign Minister Abel Matutes, the Spanish secretary of state for cooperation and the leaders of the Socialist Labor Party (PSOE/opposition) and the ruling Popular Party (PP).
The IP secretary general also conferred with the president of the autonomous government of Andalucia, Manuel Chaves, on ways to give a new momentum to Moroccan-Spanish cooperation in general and to cooperation between Andalucia and Morocco's northern region in particular.
