US lets personnel back into Addis Ababa

The United States has lifted its evacuation order for non-essential personnel in Ethiopia, and the return of personnel to Eritrea will be assessed in one month, Eritrean News Agency reported.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Mohamed Sahnoun, the special envoy of the United Nations secretary-general for Africa, will visit Burkina Faso, where jhe will meet with President Blaise Compaore, chairman of the Organization of African Unity. From there he will travel to Asmara and to Addis Ababa.
This announcement comes as the UN World Food Program said it will start providing emergency food aid to Eritreans who have been effected by the war between Eritrea and Ethiopia.
Fred Eckhart, the spokesman of the UN secretary general, said the WFP program, which comes at the request of the Eritrean government, will be valued at $15.4 million and "feed approximately 268,000 displaced Eritreans in three southern provinces."
