Lebanese resistance attacks Israeli forces
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 4/22/1999

Israeli forces on Wednesday resumed shelling the towns adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. The Israeli artillery located in al-Zafata shelled al-Rafe mount and the course of al-Zahrani river in al-Tuffah district.

News reports from south Lebanon said the shelling was accompanied by a mopping-up operation, using heavy weapons against the target region. The plain of Yahmour was also shelled where four Israeli missiles were dropped.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese resistance on Tuesday night launched a series of operations against Israeli positions inside the occupied strip of south Lebanon. Lebanese resistance sources said one of its groups attacked an Israeli position in Teir Harfa, while another group attacked another position in Balat.

The sources added that another resistance group attacked a pro-Israeli militia patrol on Sujoud - Rayhan road, resulting in direct hits among the elements and machinery of the patrol.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces enhanced their measures in south Lebanon town of Arnoun to tighten their control over the town with the help of pro-Israeli militias, barring a number of the inhabitants of the town from returning to their houses and lands. Five families left Arnoun on Wednesday because of Israel's oppressive measures against the town.
