Lufthansa resumes flights to Tripoli
Libya-Germany, Economics, 4/22/1999
The German airline, Lufthansa, said on Wednesday that it will resume its regular flights to Libya as of today.
In a statement in Frankfort, Lufthansa said it will use Airbus A 319 planes to start five flights per week between Tripoli and Frankfort.
On Tuesday, the European Union suspended the sanctions imposed on Libya since 1994, after the UN took the same step two weeks ago after Libya agreed to hand over the two Libyans who are suspected of being involved in the Lockerbie incident to be tried in Holland.
