French prime minister to visit Cairo on May 1
Egypt-France, Politics, 4/21/1999

French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin is due to arrive in Cairo on May 1 to resume strategic consultations between the two countries.

The two countries held rounds of talks regarding consultations on the experts and technical level in the French capital yesterday, which resulted in large agreements on points of view between France and Egypt which forms a good basis for consultations on a higher level, this time between French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin and the Egyptian leadership during Jospin's visit.

Sources at the French embassy in Cairo described these negotiations between French and Egyptian delegations as including diplomats, strategists and soldiers as discussing all issues and exchanging points of view, analysis and information, from Kosovo to the status in Middle East, to Iraq, the situations in Russia and Africa's Great Lakes region, Algeria, the United Nations and the European Union.
