Britain reconsiders preventing their subjects from visiting Yemen
Yemen-UK, Politics, 4/21/1999
Yemeni Minister of Interior General Hussein Arab said that Britain decided to reconsider a decision issued at the end of last year, preventing its subjects from visiting Yemen after a kidnapping incident and the deaths of four British tourists.
He said, "The Yemeni government also took a decision to reconsider a decision it issued to grant entry visas to British citizens from embassies abroad and not from Yemen's airports, just like the European Union's countries."
Hussein Arab also said, "Yemen handed over to the British authorities a complete file about the terrorist Abu Hamza El-Masri and asks Britain to hand him over to be tried inside Yemen on the charge of planning and implementing terrorist actions."
