Iraq asks the Arab league to stop the Turkish aggression on its lands
Iraq-Turkey, Politics, 4/21/1999
Iraq condemned the repeated Turkish invasions of Iraqi lands as a severe violation of the United Nations charter and the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammad Said al-Sahaf asserted in a message he sent yesterday to Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid the necessity of Arab interference to refuse this behavior and respect Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Al-Sahaf accused Turkey of association with the United Staets and Britain and presenting facilities for them to continue the deterioration of the situation in northern Iraq.
He presented the Turkish government's allegations regarding this situation that its forces chase Kurdish elements that threaten its security and he stated that this matter lacks political or legal accuracy.
