Moroccan trade union delegation visits Egypt
Egypt-Morocco, Economics, 4/21/1999

A delegation of the Moroccan energy federation-- affiliated to the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT)-- is currently visiting Egypt where it was received by Egyptian energy and electricity minister, Maher Abaza.

The trade union delegation is expected to sign this Wednesday an agreement with the General Union of Egypt's labor unions on cooperation and exchange of expertise and visits.

Under the agreement, the two sides pledge to defend labor rights in local and international encounters, enable energy workers to undertake training sessions, promote cultural activities and exchange publications.

In addition to visits to some energy projects in Cairo, Alexandria and Doumyat, the Moroccan unionists conferred with leaders of Egyptian trade unions, mainly the General Union of Egypt's labor unions and the Egyptian workers Union and other Egyptian officials from the sectors of energy and mining.
