Egypt's supports UN's initiative concerning Kosovo

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa confirmed that Egypt supports the initiative of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to solve Kosovo issue, adding that it is necessary to rally support for this initiative, referring to the possibility of activating it.
In press statements, Moussa added yesterday that there are current contacts and discussions to activate these principals in light of the UN, Security Council and international community, pointing out that efforts for a political solution to the crisis are still going on.
Answering the questions on Russia's role in setting this crisis, Moussa said that Russia has an important role in the Kosovo issue and that world opinion should be confirmed including Russia to reach a political solution on the condition that ethnic purges and expulsions of refugees should be halted.
In this concern, Moussa underlined the necessity of the refugees' return under international supervision.
Concerning the possibility that Russia can convince Belgrade to agree with suggested initiatives, Moussa said it could be possible because there are strong relations between Moscow and Belgrade, especially as Russia has a positive effect on this region.
