Armed group members killed in Algeria

The Algerian daily al-Chaab said on Tuesday that the Algerian security forces have killed four gunmen from the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) in Ein Aden district of Sidi Bel Abbes province and their weapons were confiscated.
Meantime, the Algerian daily Sawt al-Ahrar said the Algerian security and army forces have been carrying out vast mopping-up operations in Akhris district in al-Buweira province, using heavy machine guns and helicopters in bombarding GIA shelters situated in the province.
For its part, the Algerian daily al-Khabar said the armed groups killed on Monday two citizens in Medea province. The paper added that the security forces killed two GIA members in the same area.
