Report: Israel and the waters of Tigris and the Euphrates
Turkey-Regional, Politics, 4/20/1999

The Egyptian magazine Rose al-Youssef has stated that a delegation representing what is called the commission of the "Kurdish Legislature in Exile" currently visiting Egypt, revealed very grave events in that Turkey had sold parts of the northern area of Turkistan district in southeastern Turkey to Israel and that Israel has set up several settlements on these lands.

The Kurdish delegation also asserted the existence of an Israeli plan to control the waters of the Tigris and the Euphrates, where Turkey is at the meantime building some 20 dams on the springs of the two rivers in order to control their flows and prevent their waters from flowing to Syria and Iraq.

The Egyptian magazine reported that all these allegations came in the symposium hosted by the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights in the course of the visit of the Kurdish delegation to Egypt, SANA reported.
