Morocco voices readiness to consolidate ties with Algeria

King Hassan II on Saturday voiced Morocco's readiness to consolidate ties with neighboring Algeria, and expressed firm will to cement the ties of cooperation and solidarity between the two peoples. The consolidation of these ties is dictated by neighborliness, unity of fate and the shared conviction in constructing a Maghreb where union, entente, solidarity and cohesion prevail, King Hassan II said.
In a congratulations message to Algerian president-elect Abdelaziz Bouteflika, King Hassan II renewed "sincere readiness and firm keeness to resume and consolidate of the good ties of brotherhood binding our two brethren peoples."
Both Morocco and Algeria are members of the Arab Maghreb Union which also musters Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania.
