Egypt calls for repatriating Kosovo refugees
Egypt, Politics, 4/19/1999

Egypt called yesterday for the repatriation of Kosovo refugees immediately to Kosovo. Foreign Minister Amr Moussa said the problem of refugees can be solved only by repatriating them, adding that accommodating them, even temporally, is considered a grave danger.

He said the temporary accommodation of the refugees might give the impression that it was just a scheme to evacuate the enclave of its residents in the interest of other parties.

For this point of view, Moussa emphasized that Egypt is handling this problem very cautiously and it is merely a matter of receiving refugees, "yet we should be very alert from this accommodation, and scattering them all over the world."

Concerning the US and British stand toward Libya after handing over the suspects, Moussa said that he has received confirmations that the two countries intend to proceed forward in lifting sanctions finally of Libya.
