Jordan and Syria continue contacts

The Syrian embassy in Amman on Sunday held a reception marking the 53rd anniversary of the Evacuation Day. It was attended by high-ranking Jordanian officials including Jordanian Foreign Minister Abd al-Ilah al-Khatib. In a speech he made on this occasion, the Jordanian minister said that he held "important and constructive" and excellent talks with his Syrian counterpart, Farouk al-Sharaa, in Stuttgart where they met on the sidelines of the third European - Mediterranean ministers meeting last week in Stuttgart.
