Khatami to hold an Arab tour

Governmental sources in Tehran told the Kuwaiti daily Al-Rai Al-Aam on Saturday that the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami will start in the next week of May a tour which will cover Syria, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The sources added that the tour will start in the 12 of may by a two-day visit to Damascus and then to be followed by a four-day visit to Saudi Arabia during which the Iranian President will perform Raj rituals and he will later visit Qatar in conclusion of his tour.

The sources made it clear that Khatami's visit to Syria and the Gulf region Just in one tour, implies a message under the title that " the Iranian leadership is careful for its remarkable and strategic relations with Syria and at the same time to maintain similar significant relations with its Arab, in general and with the Gulf states, in particular."
