Emir of Kuwait confers with GCC secretary on leaders coming meeting

Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah on Sunday in Kuwait met with the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jamil Ibrahim al-Hujellan.

Talks during the meeting dealt with recent contacts pertaining to current contacts and preparations to convene the consultation meeting of leaders of the GCC member states to be held in the middle of next May.

Meanwhile, the GCC secretary general has announced that a consultative meeting of the GCC leaders will be held in the middle of May in order to discuss the joint march of the GCC member states and means of continuously fostering them in various areas.

In a statement to the Kuwaiti daily al-Anba published on Sunday, al-Hujellan explained that the consultative meeting of the Gulf leaders comes at the decision of the recent Abu Dhabi summit to work to eliminate obstacles impeding the GCC's progress and to follow up on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
