Morocco's airliner to resume flights to Libya soon
Libya-Morocco, Economics, 4/17/1999
Morocco's airliner Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will resume its passengers and cargo flights to Libya as of April 26.
After the lifting of the United Nations ban on Libya, RAM decided to resume its flights to the Maghreban country and has scheduled two weekly flights to Tripoli until June 23.
Libya was among Morocco's main Arab trade partners before the embargo in the early 1990s. Libya used to import from Morocco clothing items, electric components and farming products. Libyan exports to Morocco were mainly made up of oil and gas.
Other Arab and foreign airliner have decided to resume
Flights to Libya after U.N. sanctions against Tripoli were lifted following the hand over of two Libyan suspected of involvement in the 1988 Lockerbie airliner bombing.
