France, UAE conclude maneuvers

The United Arab Emirates news agency reported on Thursday that French and UAE forces on Thursday concluded "successfully" joint military maneuvers which had started last Sunday.

A military official in Abu Dhabi said the maneuvers achieved their "set objectives" and thar UAE forces taking part in these maneuvers carried out their responsibilities successfully beside the French forces.

He stressed that during the maneuvers the UAE forces showed their capability "to interact with weapons of the age."

These maneuvers were held on the level of the military leadership in which joint French and UAE land, sea and air forces took part. Periodic joint French and UAE maneuvers are held in the context of a defense agreement signed in 1995. Most of the UAE's weapons are made in France.
