Ethiopian warplanes bombard Eritrean positions

The Eritrean authorities announced that Ethiopian warplanes on Thursday afternoon bombarded Adi Kaieh city, 185 km north of the capital, Asmara, Forto town in western Eritrea and the outskirts of Mendefera city.

In a statement, the Eritrean Foreign Ministry said the Ethiopian bombardment targeted a school in Adi Khala city, adding that the bombardment resulted in wounding 8 children and the partial destruction of a church.

In Addis Ababa, the spokeswoman for the Ethiopian government, Soloumi Tadisi, that there were injuries or deaths among civilians, adding that the Ethiopian warplanes targeted military positions only.
