Lebanon arrests network of spies for Israel

Lebanese army intelligence has arrested a network of spies who deal with Israel and its intelligence.

A Lebanese security source said in a statement on Thursday that the directorate of intelligence in the Lebanese army continues to dismember other spy networks with Israel, adding that efforts made in this respect resulted in discovering and suspending a networking which works for the Israeli intelligence and its elements and their department 504.

The Lebanese security source added that members of the network were arrested following the success of the Lebanese intelligence directorate in taking one official in department 504 outside the occupied part of south Lebanon.

Following confessions by the official, the Lebanese security source added, the directorate carried out a vast mopping-up campaign that covered all Lebanese areas and resulted in arresting members of the network.
