Khatami to visit Riyadh in the middle of May

A strong impetus has been given to Iranian-Saudi relations, especially following the visit of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal to Tehran. Iranian President Muhammad Khatami is expected to visit Saudi Arabia in the middle of May. In a statement to the Saudi daily Okaz, the Iranian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Muhammad Rida Nouri, said Khatami will during his visit, hold talks with Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz and high-ranking Saudi officials.
Nouri expressed his pride over the development of Iranian-Saudi relations, adding that these relations have been recently given a great impetus, in reference to the recent visit made by the Saudi FM to Iran.
