King Abdullah in Libya tomorrow
Jordan-Libya, Politics, 4/16/1999

A Jordanian official said on Thursday that King Abdullah of Jordan will hold an official visit to Libya on Saturday. The source added that King Abdullah will hold talks with Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gaddafi on means of strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in economic, trade and investment fields, as well as on current Arab conditions.

A Libyan source told ArabicNews.com that the Libyan leader will inform King Abdullah about the outcomes of handing over the two Libyan suspects in the Lockerbie bombing and the harm done to Libya and neighboring Arab countries due to sanctions imposed on Libya, which Libya describes as unjust.

The source added that the two leaders will discuss the convening of an Arab summit, in which all Arab leaders would take part, including Iraq, and how to open a new page between the Gulf states and Iraq, as well as lifting sanctions from Iraq before the Western countries initiate and lift them so as to surprise the Arabs by this.
