Cairo is to host conference of human rights and development

In participation with Arab Organization for Human Rights, the United Nations is going to organize the first conference for human rights and development, to be held on June 7 - 10.
The secretary general of the organization, Mohamed Fayek, told ArabicNews.com that for the first time the conference will discuss the relation between human rights and development, considering that development is now included among human rights.
He added that the conference will address the role of women in development and upgrading the culture of human rights, saying that the goal of the conference is to upgrade the participation of non-governmental organizations in human rights and development.
The conference will cover four main areas: the culture of development and the dimensions of relations between human rights and development, the relation of globalization to poverty, the role of non-governmental organizations in development and enhancing the human rights culture, and experiences of Arab non-governmental organizations working in field of development
