Libyan dinar's value rises in Egyptian markets
Libya-Egypt, Economics, 4/15/1999
The value of the Libyan dinar continued its increase in the Egyptian exchange markets, amounting to 150 piasters, after the decision of the UN to suspend the sanctions over Libya.
Before lifting the sanctions, the dinar was worth 100 piasters and currency traders expect it to amount to 200 Egyptian piasters during this month.
The currency traders say that there is Egyptian demand for the Libyan dinar that is not being met because the Libyan dinar is not available in large amounts in Cairo, while it is found in Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, Hurghada and Aswan in large amounts.
They added that the dinar will witness a promotion in the coming period, relating to the opening of economic and trade exchange with Libya.
