Inaugurating the Arab conference on cancer in Cairo today

Egyptian Minister of Health Dr. Ismael Salam is to inaugurate the sixth national conference and Arab spring conference on cancer, organized by the Egyptian assembly for cancer diseases, in participation with the European organization for research and treatment of tumors.

Dr. Sherif Oman, a professor specialist in cancer, said in a press conference he held yesterday on the occasion of holding the two conferences that the conferences will address the dimensions of the new surgical treatments for different tumors, especially tumors affecting the liver and stomach and treatments with gene therapy and others modern methods of treating tumors.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sherif Omar said that he is going hold a private session on the margin of the 2 conference's works - on cancer and the environment, in which they are going to discuss enviromental pollution and its relation to cancer in Egypt, beside the most modern methods of treatment, protecting and personification of the disease.

He also added that the aim of the two conferences is to establish scientific cooperation between organizations for treating cancer in Egypt and Arab and European countries, in addition to the role of schools in teaching the science of cancer.

The two conferences will discuss 100 medical studies presented by Egypt and several Arab and European countries and the USA.
