Morocco's telecom, tv-radio workers and teachers observe protest movements

Morocco's Posts and Telecom workers started Tuesday a three-day strike to protest the authorities' failure to meet their grievances.

The workers said they decided to stage this new strike after the dialogue they opened with the administration yielded no results.

The telecom workers claim improvement of their work and financial conditions.

Journalists and technicians of the Moroccan public Radio-Tv (RTM) are also planning to stage this Wednesday a sit-in to protest poor financial situation.

They also request additional allowances, improvement of their work conditions and respect of the journalism ethics.

On Tuesday, Moroccan primary and secondary education teachers went on strike to draw the authorities attention to their deteriorating work and financial situation.

The teachers claim salary increase, settlement of the cases of suspended and dismissed teachers. They also called for revision of retirement allowances and guarantee of trade union freedom.
