President Mubarak and Sheikh Zayed meet, enjoy a day at the races

A session of formal talks was convened today between Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan at El-Moshref palace in Abu Dhabi.

The discussions began with an expanded session between members of Egyptian and UAE delegations, followed by a closing session between Mubarak and Sheikh Zayed.

At the end of the session, Mubarak headed to al-Wathba palace where he will attend a luncheon banquet hosted by the UAE leader for President Mubarak and his accompanying delegation. Jordan's King Abdullah will attend also, and leaders of Gulf Cooperation Council countries who are taking part in El-Hagan race that is to begin today also.

Following the lunch, Sheikh Zayed will accompany Mubarak and his guests to the site of the race, then Mubarak will be back to his residence.

Mubarak will return to Cairo on Thursday.
