Sudanese protest over British humanitarian organization..
Sudan, Politics, 4/13/1999

Sudanese Minister of Justice Ali Othman Mohammed Yassin expressed his relief toward the role played by the Sudanese delegation in the 55th session of the human rights organization in Geneva, saying that his country decided to lodge a claim against the Organization of Christian Solidarity International for deforming the image of Sudan by claiming that there is a slavery trade in Sudan.

The minister said, "We were able to raise our issue and discuss all that has taken place, thus we are adopting a fixed policy in the interest of human rights as a main part of the country's policy."

He also added that it is Sudan's right to protest these claims that confirm the existence of contradictions to human rights in Sudan.

He also added that what the organization has done greatly affected the reputation of Sudan, "where we reached a decision to lodge a note against the organization and we will demand to abolish its registry and retire it from UN" if the complaint is upheld.
