Six economic agreements between India and Qatar

Six agreements for joint cooperation between India and Qatar in the fields of foreign affairs, banning double taxation, encouraging investments and cooperation in fields of youths, sports, trade chambers, industry and in small and medium-sized projects will be signed in Qatar in the coming week.
An official Indian statement stated that these agreements come after the successful visit paid by Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani to New Delhi this week and that this visit, which lasted three days is the first of its sort paid by the Qatari ruler.
The statement also said India is the largest purchaser of natural gas since its signature of a memorandum of understanding to import 7.5 million tons of Qatari liquid natural gas (LNG) for 25 years in a transaction worth $1.5 billion to be implemented in the year 2000.
