The Turkish incursion in northern Iraq

Military officials said in Turkey on Sunday that Turkish security forces killed 44 armed Kurds while 8 members of the Turkish armed forces were killed in a large attack launched by the Turkish forces in northern Iraq. The Turkish officials added that a force of some 5,000 Turkish soldiers, backed by air support from helicopters and F-16 jet fighters, took part in the attack which started on Saturday night. A Turkish military official said this operation will continue until its objectives are achieved.
