Jordanian FM to visit Damascus

The Jordanian weekly al-Hadath quoted well-informed sources in Amman as saying that Jordanian Prime Minister Abd al-Ilah al-Khatib will visit Damascus during the current month to meet with Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa.

The paper added that the sources described the visit as falling in the context of the new page opened in the chapter of bilateral Jordanian - Syrian relations. The paper reported that accordance to well-informed sources in Amman, "Our brothers in Syria are preparing a huge reception for King Abdullah who will visit Damascus in the near future."

The sources added that Syria and Jordan are trying to invest any official occasion for the two countries to strengthen their bilateral relations.
