European market reduces in half Egyptian exports of peanuts
Egypt-European Union, Economics, 4/10/1999
The European market's countries decided to halve their imports of Egyptian peanut for 45 months.
An Egyptian diplomatic source told ArabicNews.com that the European market's countries have refused the cargo because it did not conform to their technical and health descriptions and due to its affliction with some agricultural diseases.
The source confirmed that Egypt is waiting for the European reply during this period of 45 months on how to take the necessary measures to combat the diseases that afflict the planting of Egypt peanuts, as the Egyptian government will train workers on the procedures they should follow while taking care of the peanuts.
The volume of Egypt's exports of peanuts is down to 7,000 tonnes during the last three months.
