Egypt examines Albania returnee accused of membership in Islamic Jihad group

The high military court in Cairo is to examine the case of those who returned from Albania, which includes 107 persons accused of being members of the Islamic Jihad group, led by Ayman El-Zawhay, and others affiliated to Saudi separatist Osama Bin Laden.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian authorities took strong security measures to secure the trial session that will be held in El-Highecstept military region, east of Cairo.

The case comprises a number of the most prominent assistants of the Islamic Jihad's leader who Egypt recently received from abroad, among which is the eminent leader Ahmed Salama Mabrouk, who is considered by the Egyptian authorities to be the right-hand man of Ayman El-Zawahray, and Eassam Eldeen Hafez, who was accused of training the group's elements in El-Qadesia camp at Afghanistan. The case also includes Salman Azrbikhan and Mohamed Saeed El-Ashri who were accused of being the reason behind the travel of 10 members of Islamic organizations' members to Afghanistan.

It also includes Ahmed Ibrahim El-Nagar, who is sentenced by default to execution in the Khan El-Khalily case, Shawki Salama, who was handed over from Albania, and Khaled El-Sayed Abu El-Dahab of US nationality, who assumed the mission of conveying the phone calls of the organization's leaders to its members in Egypt.
