Jordan stresses cooperation with Syria to build al-Wahda dam, finance a problem

Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh has reiterated efforts with Syria to build al-Wahda dam. This was expressed during the interventions made by members of the Jordanian Parliament on the government's statement which the Cabinet submitted to win the parliament's confidence.
The Jordanian premier indicated problems relating to financing problems that obstruct rapid implementation of this pilot project, "But we are determined to eliminate this obstacles, in cooperation with our brothers in Syria in order to establish this dam."
The Jordanian Prime Minister also reiterated Jordan's commitment to every drop of water of its water rights stated in the Wadi Araba treaty with Israel.
