Talks between Egypt and Libya for air trips
Egypt-Libya, Economics, 4/8/1999

Egypt and Libya started taking procedures to restart airline service between the two countries after the lifting of the air embargo imposed as part of UN sanctions.

A delegation from the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority and airlines will arrive in Cairo during the coming month to discuss flights between Tripoli and Cairo that stopped in April, 1992.

Official sources in Egypt Air Company said that it is expected that the company will start running two trips for Benghazi and Tripoli with an Airbus 600.

The sources confirmed that starting the airline flights would contribute to increasing bilateral commercial exchange and activating tourism travel movement.

On other hand, the Tunisian and Jordanian airline companies are getting ready to resume flights to Libya after the lifting of the air embargo imposed on Libya since 1992.
