Qatar, India hold official talks

A round of official talks started on Wednesday in New Delhi between the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani, and the Indian prime minister.

The Gulf News Agency said that during the session the two sides exchanged views on several regional and international issues. The agency added that a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries' ministries of foreign affairs.

Also signed were several agreements covering the mutual encouragement and protection of investment, an agreement to avoid double taxation, an agreement to maintain cooperation in the areas of youths and sports, an agreement for setting up a joint business council, as well as signing a memorandum of understanding between the Indian national commission for small industries and the Qatari chamber of commerce and industry.
