Spokesman for the United Nations secretary general, Fred Eckhard, said yesterday that the UN Security Council was discussing whether to issue a draft resolution or other type of response to the latest developments in the Lockerbie case, including the suspension of UN sanctions.
He added that the chairman of the committee monitoring the sanctions, Danilo Turk of Slovenia, will issue a note verbale restating the suspension of the sanctions.
