Italian foreign minister arrives in Libya

Italian Foreign Minister Lamberto Dini has asserted that Libya and Italy have worked for a very long time to strengthen prospects of bilateral cooperation. He added that the joint declaration which was signed last June was a turning point in the course of relations between the two countries.

Dini, who arrived at Tripoli airport by air has expressed his happiness at reach Tripoli with no obstacles (in reference to the suspended embargo from Libya).

He added that peace, development and cooperation in the Mediterranean region cannot be established without Libya's contributions. He explained that lifting the sanctions from Libya will enable it to take its due role in the dialogue standing between the Mediterranean states.
