Iraq denies military cooperation with Yugoslavia
Iraq, Politics, 4/7/1999
Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan on Tuesday refuted claims made by US and British officials which indicate military cooperation between Iraq and Yugoslavia.
Ramadan told journalists in Baghdad on Tuesday replying a question on the existence of military cooperation between his country and Yugoslavia that such claims are but new lies from the US.
He asserted Iraq's backing for Yugoslavia against NATO bombardment.
He also confirmed his country's refusal of any new organization to monitor its banned arms.
Ramadan, moreover, renewed Iraqi's insistence on confronting US and British planes over the no-fly zones in Iraq's southern and northern airspace.
