Egypt, Holland to endorse agreement to ban double taxation

Egyptian Minister of Trade and Supply Ahmed Goweili is to meet with his Dutch counterpart, Gerrit Ybema, on April 19. The Dutch minister will is due to visit Egypt in the period from April 18 - 23 at the head of Dutch business delegation.
During the meeting, the two ministers are going to endorse two agreements to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries. The first, which has been ratified since 1997, is to prevent double taxation and the second is to bolster technical cooperation between the Egyptian center for developing exports and the Dutch department for developing imports, including the establishment of training courses in new trades, and drafting a program for training young producers and Egyptian exporters aimed at informing them about the European markets and how to enter them, Afifi Selim, the director in the Egyptian trade ministry in charge of European Union's trade said.
Selim added that the delegation includes 30 Dutch companies working in the fields of consultative engineering, milk products, infrastructure projects and establishing harbors.
Afifi said that Egyptian exports to Holland reached $124 million in 1997, while imports from Holland were worth $442 million.
