Another US congressional delegation arrives In Morocco

A U.S. congressional delegation arrived Monday evening in Rabat on a four-day working visit destined to enhance further Morocco-US ties and partnership in all sectors.
The delegation, led by Benjamin Gilman, Chairman of the International Relations Committee at the House of Representatives, will meet with several Moroccan officials and businessmen.
Talks will focus on bilateral relations, the latest developments of the Middle-East peace process and ways to rev up bilateral trade exchange and investment.
The US delegation, composed of Bernard Sanders (Independent/Vermont), Bob Filner (Democrat/California) and Earl Hilliard (Democrat/Alabama), will be received by King Hassan II and will tour several US-supported socioeconomic development projects.
Benjamin Gilman (Republican of N.Y) and the accompanying congressmen arrived in Morocco within the framework of a North African and Middle East tour destined to assess Middle East peace process. The US delegation had earlier visited Jordan, Israel, Egypt and Tunisia.
Another 13-member congressional delegation, led by chairman of the Trade Committee at the House of Representatives, Tom Bliley, has been visiting Morocco since last Saturday.
The members of both American delegations are among the 110-Congressmen signatories of the "Statement of Friendship" setting up the caucus "Friends of Morocco in the United States Congress."
USA is Morocco's seventh customer and fourth supplier while its indebtedness towards the United States is estimated at around $1.1 billion, representing 6 % of Morocco's overall foreign debts.
