Moussa, El-Baz confer with British house of common's delegation
Egypt-UK, Politics, 4/5/1999

Egyptian president's political advisor, Osama El-Baz, met today with a delegation from the British House of Commons which is currently visiting Cairo. El-Baz said he informed the delegation about the latest developments in the Middle East and on the outlook of the Egyptian leadership and people toward British and European policy.

El-Baz added that the discussions tackled the two sides' desire to boost cooperation between Britain and the major countries in the Middle East, including Egypt.

Answering the questions of journalists today, El-Baz renewed his call for Israel to carry out its commitments regardless of the government in power and regardless of any political changes or electoral circumstances.

He also confirmed the importance of the international community and its views and not allowing the Israeli elections to control the situation of the region which has been deadlocked on the peace track.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa also convened with the delegation from the British House of Commons, comprising representatives of the British Conservative and Labor parties.

Moussa said he discussed bilateral relations in addition to the developments in the Middle East, the peace process, the situation in the Mediterranean Sea and the coming meeting of the foreign ministers of countries in the Barcelona declaration on April 15 - 16 in Stuttgart, Germany in addition to the situation in Kosovo.
