Christian communities in Syria celebrate Easter

The Christian communities in Syria on Sunday held large religious ceremonies in all parts of the country.
The ceremonies were held at the Greek-Catholic cathedral in Damascus led by Patriarch Maximos VI Hakim, the Catholic Syriac Community headed by Patriarch Youssef al-Muneer, the spiritual leader of the National Anglican community in Damascus Rev. Botrous Za'our, the Archbishop Kinil Djerjian of the Armenian-Orthodox Church of the Damascus Parish, and other similar Cathedrals in Aleppo.
The preachers confirmed the importance of this occasion in achieving cohesion among all religions.
In the respect, Syrian President on Sunday delegated the Minister of Presidential affairs Wahib Fadel to offer congratulations to heads of the Christian communities in Syria which follow the Western Calendar. The visits were made to the Greek-Catholic patriarchy, the Catholic Assyrian patriarchy, the patriarchy of the Maronite community, the Latin Convent of Rev. Abdou Nader, the national Anglican Church of Rev. Butrous Za'our, the Armenian Catholic patriarchy of Bishop Youssef Arnaouti and the patriarchy of the Armenian-Orthodox Church of Bishop Kinil Djerjian.
The bishops gave thanks to the president for his care for all " Syrians and for ensuring justice, equality and freedom to all citizens without discrimination."
